Long sms conversations, crazy confusing triangles, the predator and the prey, free hugs, unappreciated touchiness, heineken and dried apricots, the mushroom and the great white, the whites and blues and khaki-greens, regret brushes, over-sensitivity, Las Angeles and Sentosa, Japan and Australia, triangles triangles TRIANGLES. Minor sadness.
Well today was surprisingly packed for a Monday. First meal I ate was lunch which was at Cafe Cartel, mom decided to treat us :] I love my mommy <3 Off to my aunt's house all the way over in Bukit Batok to give my cousin a cheque for his wedding (OMG HE'S GETTING MARRIED =D), head over to Parkway for a spot of shopping. I needed more shorts. all my shorts are getting wrecked, seriously. I have no idea WHAT I'm doing to them but they jurt keep getting ripped, or torn, or shot, or strangled, or drowned. Dinner, then over to ANOTHER aunt's house and witnessed the craziest, highest, hyperest 4 year old cousin ever hahaha. My day in a nutshell. A pretty big nutshell.
Day14:Wow I felt today's devotional was pretty powerful.
"If Jesus came to Singapore tomorrow, where would He be?"
If you took a look at Jesus's journey, and what it says in the book of Matthew, and applied it to our modern Singapore, you come to realize that he'd one of those unk-uhs at the coffeeshop, a worker in the back of a lorry, or even a prisoner! As if that wasn't enough, the devotional then went on to say:
"Whatever we do to another human being, we do to God."
And I seriously got VERY frightened. I started thinking of all the bad things I've ever done to anyone, scolding them, taking advantage of them, making fun of them... All of these things that I HAD BEEN DOING TO GOD ALL ALONG. And THAT is why we should treat the impoverished, and for that matter ANYONE, with kindness. For Matthew states:
"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'"
-Matthew 25:40
Whenever we show love to ANYONE, down to the very 'lowest' by this society's standards, we're showing love for God. And conversely, if we truly love God, we will show the same love to all those around us! And showing love doesn't just stop at providing physical items like food or cash, but showing true love would mean SHARING THE WORD OF GOD. But how could we attempt to fulfil their spiritual needs without first attempting to meet their physical ones? Which is why we need to make a start in helping and loving the poor! This was truly one of greatest revelations I've witnessed so far during this 40 days fast. It's only day14. What could come next? PRAISE GOD!
