Man, today's schedule was pretty packed for a weekday, and I'm glad! Refreshing change from the usual, mundane, everyone's-in-school-while-I'm-on-holiday weekday :D So anyway, went to Jon's house for visit/tea/hang out/whatever. Ok I say we had tea, it was more like a second lunch (I've been having lots of second lunches recently, haven't I?) There were chicken wings, ham sandwhiches, cucumbers with tuna, curry potato things, and these weird half-eggs with mayo-nised yolks. Omoshiroi ne~ And it all tasted good too! :p Then there was the hangout! The best part hahaha. We watched Superhero movie! If you haven't seen it, GO SEE IT, IT IS HILARIOUS XD Of course I played on Jon's guitar and all his stuff. His newly-fitted strings and his $20 pedal ain't that terrible either. Waiting, to get a distopedal myself haha. THEN WE PLAYED AN OLDSCHOOL POKEMON BOARD GAME. It was this uberdupersuperpwnageawesopmeepic boardgame we played when we were still in primary school. WE ALL GONNA BE POKEMON MASTERS!!!
Then disaster struck.
I was in Bukit Timah. It was 6.25.
I had an appointment with my friends for 6.30 at Siglap.
The traffic from Bukit Timah to Siglap is just.... Unbearable. Vehicles seemed to get in our way more than ever and there was more than the usual amount of road-hoggers in the right lane... But still I managed to reach there at 7 thanks to mom's awesome driving! Hahaha had a nice steak and a nice chat :) Caught up with people I haven't seen in a long time like Andrew Ann, Wei Ru, Jolene and Phy! Hahaha they're still the same wacked out people I know :D
You have reached a checkpoint. Would you like to save?
Day8:Well I consider TODAY not YESTERDAY to be the one week checkpoint. Haha thank God I managed to last this long, and well done to everyone else on their first week :) Keep it up yeah? I feel an update on my fasting is required. Eto~ It's going pretty well actually. I thought it would be harder as I assumed I'd be sitting at home alot in the afternoons with nothing to do BUT the computer. But thankfully, I've managed to go out almost every afternoon and do something waaay more constructive. Namely, spending time with friends and family, who by the way, I love to bits :) So hopefully I can continue to spend my time wisely :)
OK SO. Lesson #8 - The Great Alienation. To me this seemed to be about prejudice and discrimination against foreigners and how that leads to exploitation and oppression. This alienation extends to all sorts of branches - race, gender, social standing, socio-ECONOMIC standing, religion, and the list goes on. But I guess the 2 MAIN things to be noted are these: 1) If you personally harbour any discriminatory or prejudiced thoughts against an 'alien', rid yourselves of them and approach God in repentence, seeking forgiveness, and 2) For those that
are suffering at the hands of alienation, extend a loving hand and provide them with God's help. Be it a disfigured person selling tissues for some cash at Orchard, or an an Indian who has to seek refuge on the streets and pavements of Little India, however different to you they are, just reach out and help them :)
As for that friend of mine mentioned in the last post, I just told him to take his time and shared a little more about God's love :) And definitely still praying :)
