Hey I'm Andrew, your average feather-in-his-cap, spring-in-his-step, sneaker-wearing, tongue-twisting, ecstacy-inducing, mind-bending, never-ending, trend-setting, floppy-fringed whatsisname. Lovable at first sight if you see me in the right light. Always willing to give second chances. And a third if you ask nicely enough. Hopelessly romantic and tragically retarded. Such a combination yields unpredictable results. Initially shy, softspoken and quiet. Unabashed, witty and loud after the ice has broken. Proud ympacter, God-seeker, salvation-finder, redemption-searcher. I'm not a WANNABE, I'm a GONNABE. Optimist with a pessimistic edge, like a lollipop coated with glass. Always strive to be perfect, very seldom am. Dreams enough to grow a pair of wings. Realistic enough to tear them up. Swings his moods like a monkey on a rope, but you seldom see the emotions fly. No tears in my eyes don't mean I'm not crying, no red in my eyes don't mean I ain't mad, no smile on my face don't mean I'm not happy, no frown on my brow don't mean I'm not thinking. Music is my drug and art my choice of poison. Performs well under pressure, but won't break under the peer kind. Don't offer me your cash or flash me a badge, your friendship's good enough for me. Break my trust, watch the sparks fly. Not without forgiveness, but definitely human. Instantaneously horrific, gradually unbearable. Wait for the sky to clear up. It'll happen. Self-testimony doesn't bring out the best in anyone, especially me. See other's for THEIR impression.

WEDNESDAY. Neither here nor there. Wasn't too bad actually haha. Went to catch Hancock with Eugene in the afternoon. I heard alot of bad reviews regarding Hancock but I thought it really wasn't that bad. Quite the contrary infact. I rather enjoyed it. Of course, it wasn't the typical Will Smith wit-fest I was expecting. It was his more In the Pursuit of Happiness/ I Am Legend type material. But it was good :) After that we went for a round of bowling which was zzz. Terrible, terrible score.
Anyway, today I was kinda thinking back to a couple of years back or so. Thinking about who I was and such. And you know, I hate who I was back then, really I do. I acted in ways I'm really ashamed of and I did things that I'm really ashamed of. I mean, I was just thinking : "what the hell Andrew? Why the hell did you go on and do that?" Gosh, I was so DUMB! So dumb and full of angst! Which led me to do some really stupid STUPID things. Things that I really regret doing. But I thank God that I managed to leave all that behind to become a better person - the Roo you guys know today :) Praise God :)

I guess the lesson learned today can be found within the title - BE A BUSYBODY. Obviously, this does not refer to rumours or gossip-mongering of any kind, but rather, not to be afraid to intervene when the situation calls for it. In today's modern world; in our very country of Singapore, foreign domestic workers are being exploited and abused. In fact, throughout the whole WORLD, this happens, and some aren't even VOLUNTARY helpers. Some are made SLAVES against their will. Now this was a topic that I really got into cause I'm seriously against all this slavery, exploitation and breaching of human rights. Back in England, I was an active supporter of this group/ movement called Stop The Traffik (http://www.stopthetraffik.org/default.aspx), which was this whole anti-slavery campaign. I guess, this whole lesson is akin to taking the initiative and standing up on the mrt so the ah ma can sit down. It's about taking the initiative to do the right thing. As Christians, we shouldbe bold and stand up for the right thing when we see that what's being done is wrong and unjust. Of course, this is all easier said than done, but through God's help and grace,I pray that we'd all be able to SPEAK up and ACT up in order to LIGHT up other people's lives, especially thoughs suffering abuse and exploitation. And for those who are suffering, pray that God will just ease their pain and give them hope in such terrible situations. BE NOSY. BE KEH-POH. BE A BUSYBODY.
